New York City-based photographer Joni Sternbach was a resident in 2008. In Wendover she created a series of tintype photographs, which instantly “historicize” the landscapes they depict. She examined the implications and effect of salt on the environment as she dug into the region’s history. The series of resulting photographs is called The Salt Effect.
