Kristin Posehn is a visual artist based in California and the Netherlands. During her spring 2007 residency she developed a project about the remote northern Nevada community of Metropolis, a boomtown that disappeared. She researched and photographed the site, made a large model of the ruined School Arch that stands alone as the iconic remains of the town, and reprinted several of the town’s newspapers and promotional materials. The project, called Reclamation, was shown at the Museum De Paviljoens in Almere, in the Netherlands. A smaller version of the project was shown at the CLUI Wendover Exhibit Hall 1.
