Lucy Raven is an artist based in New York who came to Wendover as a resident first in 2005, and returned on a number of occasions afterwards to complete her project, a film about mining called China Town. The film follows the migration of ore from a copper mine in Ruth, Nevada, 130 miles from Wendover, on trucks that pass by the residence unit (on a daily basis), to the railhead at Wendover, from where it goes by train, ship, then barge to a smelter in China. Her film covers the journey from end to end, and has been shown in several museums and for many years was available for the public to view in a small theater in CLUI Wendover Exhibit Hall 2.
