Mara Scrupe is an artist from Virginia who came to Wendover in 2005 to do an inventory of invasive plant species, but instead became enamored with the textures of the weathered surfaces of the airbase buildings. She made a photographic inventory-like display and video about peeling paint, desiccated warped wood, and other surfaces called Archaeo-entropy: Intercession for a Deactivated Airbase.
