Born in Toledo, Ohio, Nicole Jean Hill received a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Canada and a MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a faculty member in the art department of Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She came to Wendover in 2006 and explored the relationship between surficial inscriptions on the salt flats and their depiction as photographic images.
