Cumberland Commerce Center

Cumberland is a former limestone mine with around 350,000 square feet underground, of which around 155,000 square feet has been converted into warehouse-type space. It was recently owned by Meritex, a commercial real-estate developer based in Minneapolis, which briefly operated the Gateway Commerce Center (now known as Wampum Underground in Wampum, Pennsylvania) and successfully developed another underground business park at Lenexa, Kansas. The company gave up on this remote site, in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, which in 2016 was still listed on the market, for $1.35 million.
