The Rinaldi Receiving Station, one of two receiving stations without an alphabetical designation, is located in Granada Hills at the northern end of the San Fernando Valley. It is at the southern end of the Van Norman complex, a sprawling electrical and water site operated by the MWD and DWP. Rinaldi opened in 1968, and distributes high voltage power from the Pacific Intertie, the Intermountain Power Plant, and the Castaic Power Plant, to Receiving Station E, and J, as well as at lower voltage to distributing stations in the northern Valley.
