Receiving Station F serves the vast industrial and warehouse area southeast of downtown, and the population of east LA. It was originally known as the Eastside Receiving Station, and was owned by the Los Angeles Gas and Electric Corporation. It became part of the DWP system in 1937, when the Department took over a number of independently owned substations. Receiving Station F was connected to the original loop line via Station B, distributing the Boulder Dam’s power at 132,000 volts. It was also connected to the 110,000 volt LA Aqueduct power line, via Station A. Today it still has those connections, as well as a direct connection to the Haynes Generating Station, in Long Beach.
