The Foothill Power Plant is at the end of the second Los Angeles Aqueduct, built parallel to the old one, in 1970. It is one of two small hydro-electric plants generating electricity from the Los Angeles Aqueduct, at the Cascades, where the Aqueduct makes its final descent into the LA basin. Both are located inside the Van Norman Complex, after the water flows under the freeway.
