The 240 foot tall DeGrey Dam was completed on the Caddo River in 1972, built by the Army Corps of Engineers to provide a water supply and flood control for the Arkadelphia region, southwest of Little Rock, Arkansas. The small hydroelectric plant at the dam has two turbines, producing a total of around 68 megawatts. The smaller of the two turbines is reversible, enabling water to be pumped back into the reservoir to be consumed at a later time, and to help regulate the water level in the reservoir, which is a popular recreational lake.
