This building was the center for base administration and command during the war. It has since been radically modified for use as a public storage facility, and is now privately owned. In 1944 and 1945, the building housed the offices for Colonel Tibbets, the commander of the Enola Gay. Tibbets selected Wendover for the training site for the atomic bombing raid on Japan, and upon arriving in the area, is said to have declared, "the end of the world, perfect."
