This restaurant, in a triple-wide prefab trailer, became the new location for the Salt Flat Cafe around 2018. For years before that the locally legendary family-owned Mexican restaurant operated at the gas station next to the Bonneville Salt Flats exit of the interstate, five miles to the east. The gas station was purchased by new owners, who opened their own Indian restaurant there. When Salt Flats Cafe moved to this new, in-town-esque location, it became the Salt Flat Cafe Metro, and has more space, and does more business. It is one of just a few non-franchise and non-casino restaurants in town.
