Wendover, Utah’s town sewage system, which uses many of the old airbase sewer mains, converges here, then enters into the rectangular ponds nearby. This small shed has a motorized mechanism that operates a device, referred to by the town engineers as the “muffin muncher.” Located inside the sewage pipe, the “muffin muncher” grinds up any remaining chunks before the mostly liquid material goes to the evaporation and leach ponds. This is the extent of the sewage treatment on the Utah side of the state line.
